Taylor's Bridal Shower

Spring wedding season is almost upon us, so that means all you bridesmaids out there are starting to plan some gorgeous bridal showers for your number one girl! If you're looking for a little inspiration while you're planning, look no further than this gorgeous shower from last spring! The bridesmaids outdid themselves when putting together a shower for Taylor, one of my April 2017 brides and she couldn't have been happier! It was bright, cheery, and everyone had a fantastic time. Pops of colors and an endless supply of flowers, greenery and succulents were the driving theme of the decor for this happy shower.

Taylor's bridal shower was held the late morning and the hostesses served brunch! Is there anything better than brunch?! Puppies, maybe. But not much else. Needless to say, the food was perfect. It was all set in a tantalizing display on large platters and chargers. One of my favorite touches was the veggie cups. The hostesses used this idea and portioned out a variety of veggies in small serving cups with a little dressing at the bottom so guests could grab a cup and go instead of fumbling around at the table. Hurray for efficiency and NOT having to drop a cherry tomato on the ground. :) Other lovely touches included a donut tower, mixed fruit served in waffle cones (yes, girl!), and shimmery macaroons. Sprigs of eucalyptus and other greenery added a beautiful pop of class to the tables and a gorgeous naked cake with a strawberry and floral arrangement topped off the display splendidly. And the food was just the beginning!

The hostesses added some ah. ma. zing. DIY elements to the decor. The girls scoured Goodwill for old paintings in giant frames for their first big project. Once they were happy with their haul, they replaced the artwork with large pieces of cardboard that they painted with chalkboard paint and added vinyl lettering to. Such a simple way to make a really bold and elegant look! Especially with more of the gorgeous flowers and greenery. Those girls made the floral bunches they purchased from Trader Joe's go a long way! I saw that stuff everywhere!

The next project combined two pallets into one big backdrop with (you guessed it!) a gorgeous floral accent. These sprigs were all from Hobby Lobby to allow the backdrop to be used again and again without the need to purchase flowers each time. They added an antique patterned chair to the display and had a Pinterest-worthy seat of honor for Taylor that was perfect for photo-ops at the end of the shower!

The tables held floral and succulent arrangements in an array of ceramic and glass jars and vases. The girls collected these over a few months from Goodwill, Hobby Lobby and different local antique shops and then created all the arrangements themselves. The jars and vases were a great teaser for the wedding centerpieces that were a more dramatic result of the same idea.

These bridesmaids did a great job creating an atmosphere that Taylor loved and they knocked all the DIY elements out. of. the. park. I would never have guessed that those giant gorgeous signs were cardboard and it still amazes me what people can do with pallets! Check out some other photos from the shower in the gallery below.
